Jump Rope Academy & Motherwell Club Perform on 8 Event Promo Tour

There was no rest during the sumer break for Lanarkshires top skippers as 6 junior coaches from the Jump Rope Academy Display Team, lead by Tracy Bannatyne, were invited to outdoor community events held in Airdrie & Shotts. The Dedicated High School crew who train up to 7hrs per week, performed demonstrations and delivered energising jump rope workshops to the public.

A larger group from the Motherwell Jump Rope Academy team were also invited by NL Leisure to perform at their annual ‘Festival of Fun’ events in Cumbernauld, Motherwell and Bellshill, where up to 1,000 people were expected. The 16 participants aged from 8-16 wooed crowds with their individual, freestyle, partner and double dutch displays, choreographed to music.

The Motherwell club who have been running since 2006 have amassed over 180 British Medals. In late June they took part in the NHS Get Active event in the Strathclyde Park in front of 2,000 spectators. The busy teams spectacular displays seen them invited to the National Play Day at Summerlee in August followed by the Commonwealth Countdown Event at St. Ambrose High, Coatbridge.

Head Coach Tracy Bannatyne had this to say, “I’m really proud of the girls and the hard work and dedication they continue to display. I’d like to thank all those who have shown their support by inviting the team along to these fantastic events to show their skills. We’re now really looking forward to the British Team and Masters Championships which we will be hosting on behalf of the British Rope Skipping Association on the 12th & 13th of October in the Sir Matt Busby Centre.”
